Soraya Hoogendijk, Dutch by birth, has lived in Andalusia since the age of three. Her family moved to Malaga when she was a child, she studied in Seville; a degree in East Asian Studies and is fluent in Spanish, English and Dutch.
Personally, Soraya loves her family, social issues and is multicultural by nature. In addition to the aforementioned languages, she also has a high level of Mandarin Chinese, Farsi and French, due to her family and professional relationships. Finally, she has strong moral values that make her an excellence-oriented person towards others and the company:
“Work done in the spirit of service is the highest form of worship”.
– The Bahá’í writings
She has been collaborating with Welex, a law and accountancy firm in Spain, for more than two years now, helping with translations in the Marketing department and assisting our clients with verbal translations at the notary’s office. This role will continue to be carried out in addition to other duties:
– Assisting lawyers in their work with Dutch-speaking clients.
– Assisting the accountants with their communications with Dutch-speaking clients
– Receiving e-mails and resolving client issues
– Accompanying clients out of the office to carry out specific tasks.
Now, our paralegal has a few words to say about her new position:
“I am Soraya, I live with my family in San Pedro de Alcántara, Marbella. I am very happy to have joined the team at Welex, a leading law firm in Marbella. I already knew many of my colleagues from previous collaborations and they have welcomed me with open arms. It is a pleasure to work in such a happy and professional environment. This job opportunity has come at an unexpected time in my life, but I am very grateful that it has. The firm has also given me the flexibility to combine my family life with my work, which says a lot about the firm’s professional ethic. This is truly admirable.
I really enjoy being able to assist the firm’s professionals in different areas and clients of different nationalities, making it easier for them to communicate with their trusted lawyers and accountants. I am sure that I will be able to contribute a lot to the team, as I enjoy my daily tasks and that is important to do the job with excellence.
On a personal note, being the daughter of Dutch parents who bought and sold on numerous occasions, I am even happier to be able to help Welex’s clients avoid all the difficulties they had to go through with their house sales, tax payments and other related issues.
We are very happy to have her on our team on a permanent basis – welcome to the team!
