In order to participate in Spain at public auctions and specifically online public auctions of the Spanish Tax Office, you must fulfil some specific requirements:
- You must have a Spanish Fiscal Identification Number (NIF) or an Identification Number for Foreigners (N.I.E) in case you are foreigner.
- You must have a user certificate issued by the Spanish Tax Office installed on the navigator of your computer.
- Have an account open with funds at one of the banks that collaborate with the Tax Office’s system.
In order to participate at online public auctions of the Spanish Tax Office, you must follow the next steps:
1) Constitution of a deposit.
The deposit in order to participate at online public auctions of the Spanish Tax Office must be done by obtaining the well-known NRC (Complete Reference Number) and obviously the deposit must be made prior to the date of the public auction.
2) Prove yourself to be registered as tender.
You must choose at which public auction you wish to participate. You must chose the specific lot and register as tender. You must indicate the Number NRC you have obtained which must be at least 20% of the value of the first call to tenders.
With the same deposit you can make a bid for other lots provided that at least 20% of the value of the first call to tenders is covered.
The bid can be done automatically or either you can bid directly by connecting to the system on the previously set date and time.
In case the public auction at first call does not result in any sales, the tax office will make a second call for 75% of the value of the first one.
3) Representation
The bidder may act in his own name or represent any other person.
Obligations of the winning bidder.
The Spanish Tax Office will withhold the deposit mentioned in step 1 in case of having participated at online public auctions and having been allotted one or more lots.
You must pay the remaining amount within a period of 15 days following the allotment.
