Dutch business community in Marbella celebrates 22nd annual Herring Festival with style and purpose

The Dutch business community in Marbella came together last Saturday 21st of June in grand fashion to celebrate the 22nd edition of the renowned Haring Party, hosted by the Marbella Dutch Business Club (MDBC). Held at the elegant El Ancla Beach Club in San Pedro de Alcántara, the event welcomed more than 250 distinguished guests for an evening of fine dining, networking, and philanthropy.

For another year, Welex Lawyers & Accountants reaffirmed its role as official sponsor and proud partner of the MDBC, continuing its commitment to fostering strong ties, mutual support, and seamless integration of the Dutch community within the social and economic fabric of Marbella.

Guests enjoyed an exceptional culinary experience, featuring traditional Dutch herring, premium oysters, artisanal cheeses, sushi, and a selection of gourmet delicacies. The vibrant ambiance was set early on by DJ Thom, whose beats energized the crowd. The celebration reached its peak with a live performance by acclaimed Dutch vocalist Ger Vos, who transformed the evening into an unforgettable dance party under the stars.

A key moment of the night was the presentation of the Golden Herring Award, which this year honoured Suus Kortekaas of Schmidt Zeevis for her outstanding contribution to Dutch gastronomy and business presence on the Costa del Sol.

True to its values, the Marbella Dutch Business Club also used the occasion to support a local cause. A €3,000 donation was made to Asociación CRECE, a Marbella-based nonprofit dedicated to the education and integration of children and young adults with special needs.
